Let’s continue self-soothing techniques. Last time we talked about touch. This time, let’s talk about scent. Our sense of smell can significantly help when we want to relax.
Our favorite candle, fresh coffee, the smell of freshly cleaned sheets, breakfast cooking, grass or flowers, your favorite cologne, or essential oils can help us soothe and ground ourselves and help us feel better when managing ongoing stress or stressful situations.
