Let’s continue self soothing techniques. Last time we talked about touch. This time let’s talk about scent. Our sense of smell can be of tremendous help when we want to relax.
Our favorite candle, fresh coffee, the smell of freshly cleaned sheets, breakfast cooking, grass or flowers, your favorite cologne or essential oils – all of these things can help us soothe and ground ourselves, and help us to feel better when managing ongoing stress or stressful situations.
