Discrimination, Denied!

October 28, 2020 by Melissa Leave a Comment

The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) voted unanimously to restore protections for LGBTQ and disabled clients in the Social Workers Code of Conduct that was undone on October 12th, 2020. Thanks to the public support legal discrimination has been denied. I stand with Social Workers and all mental health professional who strive for equal treatment and care for our diverse community. When discrimination of one is allowed, we are all at risk. For the citizens in our community to access affirmative and supportive care, we must be inclusive of diverse needs. Rather than discriminate, get educated about the world around you, so that you can serve those with the greatest need.
