IMPROVE: Prayer

May 6, 2020 by Melissa Leave a Comment

The third letter in the IMPROVE acronym stands for Prayer. Prayer can be talking to God or the Great Spirit or to the universe or your guardian angel. It can be opening yourself up, surrendering your problems, and accepting the situation as is. It can be asking for guidance and tolerance and endurance from a power greater than yourself, however you see or understand that power. It does not have to be religious in nature. To some people, a long walk in the woods while listening to the forest is a kind of prayer.

“The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.”

 Soren Kierkegaard
