The V in IMPROVE

May 15, 2020 by Melissa Leave a Comment

The V in the IMPROVE acronym stands for vacation. When dealing with a stressful ongoing situation, taking a break is important. Most of us can’t afford to take a real vacation in the middle of a crisis. We can, however, find ways to take a break that don’t involve leaving the situation. We can declare some space, curl up with a book, take a walk, relax and daydream, and do something we enjoy. Taking a break is not meant to be a permanent avoidance, but rather a rejuvenating time out before continuing to deal with various stressors.
